Yes, I’ve heard things like that said before. Sexism is still very much around in big ways, often hidden, and male priviledge is still in existence, often hard to see. Women are still abused and beaten and raped and paid lower wages in a MUCH larger percentage than men. Finally, to show concern for helping women does not mean there is no concern for men. The person commenting in your roup may think there is an “old feminism” and a “new feminism” when in fact there is just feminism. Women are still not equal to men around the world, and we need to find a way make men and women equal; drawing attention to the inequality is a way to help change it for the better. That is what feminism is.
