What Will Bring Trump Down?
Racism? Hate? Power?
This is an image that I keep imagining in my head, it surfaces regularly. Yesterday, I drew it. The original drawing was just Trump with his hands clamped behind his back. I wanted to see it. At the time, I didn’t know what else to do with the drawing — should I put the Statue of Liberty handcuffing him? Somehow I didn’t like that, although the symbolism works. Then I decided to put his hands tied by something that would have a label. What would be on the label? “Racism,” “ stupidity,” “power,” “opportunism, ” “hate?”
Then I realized what I should paint on the ties — or fake handcuffs — that bind his hands.
What I hope eventually bring Trump down is the Truth.
Should there be a color on the ties? Maybe not… but if a color, what color? I decided to paint it blue, to represent the Democratic party. Because I believe in and advocate for Truth.
Will it be his resignation, Impeachment, the 25th Amendment? Perhaps our judicial system will finally be the method to holds him accountable. We don’t know yet, but he should be gone and put in jail. The rest of the world is watching, and they need to see that finally, we as a strong democracy, will not stand for a treasonous president.
