Visual Journalism On Medium Day!
A new form of media
It is with great pleasure that I tell you that I will be speaking on Medium Day again this year! I have been writing for Medium for over a decade, so I am a fan of the platform and love connecting with my readers! It’s about creating a new internet.
This year, I will be speaking about Visual Journalism. Of course reporting with photographs and illustration has been around for decades, but it usually is connected to a written piece. In 2015, I innovated something new: Digital Visual Journalism. It all began when I drew the State of The Union on my iPad (from my tv) and shared immediately on Twitter. Since then, I have done live events for major news outlets and companies, covering the Oscars, Emmys, DNC, White House Press Conference, The NYC Marathon (while I participated) Women’s Marches, Trump Trials and more. I love this form of journalism.
On Medium Day, I will explain how I do it, and why I do it. The media landscape is changing rapidly, new ways of reporting and connecting with others are emerging all the time.
