Trump’s Tweets
Hateful and devisive, they may topple him
This drawing was drawn after Trump put out a flurry of angry tweets over the course of 24 hours. This is not a new thing, but his tweets seem to be increasing in frequency and vitriol. This recent blast was during the difficult events surrounding the shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and the Portland protests, and susequent violence instigated by Trump supporters on pickup trucks, armed with paintball guns, pepper spray.
With each day as we head to the election, Trump seems to feel he can control his re-election by tweeting. What he is doing is simply rallying his base with angry dog whistles, inciting racism, and fomenting violence. Trump shows his true colors in his tweets.
Reading his tweets and watching him speak about conspiracies (“dark corners” of people in black who control Joe Biden) — and his attacks on the “corrupt” media — it’s tempting to be confident that Trump will lose in November. I am hopeful his tweets will topple him, but we cannot be complacent.
It’s a scary time. Vote.
