Trump’s Patriotism

Bolstered by Fox News, it’s all about him

The ongoing details of the impeachment inquiry into Donald Trump are overwhelming in many ways. I am trying to keep up.

When Fox News questioned the patriotism of the highly decorated, Purple Heart recipient Lt.Col. ALexander Vindman — who testified about the Ukraine phone call he listened in on and his concerns about it — I lost it. They imply on-air that Vindman is not “loyal”to the president by expressing his concerns, hence he is disloyal to his country; they also imply that his loyalty is really to his birth country, the former USSR which he left at age 3. Lt. Col. Vindman is completly loyal to the US by reporting concerns about the phone call in which it appears Trump attempted to bribe the Ukranian president.

Add to that , Trump’s egotism was continually on display this week, most notably during his announcment of the killing of a major leader of Isis.
