And a dog cartoon

The above is my cartoon in The New Yorker this week. I hope you howl at the moon anyway.

This morning, I listened to the end of Trump’s address at the United Nations. He went off script and made a lot of complaints, going well over triple the time allotted. He spent 10 minutes on the global warming “hoax.” Which he claims was created by “stupid people,” the “greatest con job” ever.

“The carbon footprint is nonsense. They want to kill all the cows, which is unbelievable.”

“I was right about everything.”

“I’m really good at this stuff. Your countries are going to hell.”

“The United States has been taken advantage of by much of the world, but no longer. You might have noticed.”

“Christianity is the most persecuted religion on the planet.”

He again boasted that he ended seven wars, which the NY TImes disputes. He disparaged the United Nations in his talk, and said, “It’s too bad I had to do these things instead of the United Nations doing them.”

There was more, but this gives you an idea. Embarassing. The “your countries are going to hell” comment really sticks in my head as such an offensive remark. That’s the president.
