Trump = Danger

Unfortunately he has to be paid attention to

I really don’t want to draw Trump again. I deliberately did not watch his announcement last night, not wanting to feed into the media frenzy he craves — not that my eyes make any difference. It was a symbolic “not-watching” on my part.

When he was running previously, I drew him in short pants, as a schoolyard bully. He’s much, much worse than that, we now know. I don’t like to ridicule anyone, but I needed to weigh in this morning. Most of the time, however, you will not get drawings of this horrible man from me.

Ivanka was not at her father’s announcement, stating, “I don’t plan to be involved in politics”

I read a good article this morning in the NY Times about the White House’s plan towards the orange menace. Biden has a dedicated set of staffers, The Trump Project, whose job it is to fight back and attack this threat to democracy. Bravo.

At the end of that article is the following:

“After Mr. Trump’s speech Tuesday night, a reporter traveling with the president for the Group of 20 summit in Bali, Indonesia, asked Mr. Biden whether he had a reaction to the announcement. Mr. Biden, who was meeting with President Emmanuel Macron of France, looked at his counterpart and the two men smirked.

“Not really,” Mr. Biden said.”

I love that.

Short Pants has to be watched, but we have to do it with intent.
