It was a relatively calm debate; anything would be calm compared to the last one-on-one between Biden and Trump. The fly from the VP debate was not in evidence, a disappointment to many of us. For our sanity, the mute button was the star, however.
I was aware that Trump lied a lot, but the fact checkers have since confirmed that Trump’s words composed the most lying in one stretch of anyone, ever in a debate. Constant lies. Biden was confident, and against a barage of egotistical vents, he shared some of his famous hope and empathy. He also showed a lot of great facial expressions in response to Trump.
One of my favorite one-word answers from Biden was “oh, god.”
Several times Trump successfully rammed some of his comments over the moderator Kirsten Welker’s protestations. While she did a yoman’s job, he often bullied her into silence.
After the debate was over, I listened to commentary on CNN and a final poll was offered. I don’t recall the numbers exactly, but the poll showed Biden won last night’s debate by a large margin. I am so used to being suprised at how close these things are. I would have thought Trump supporters would have been pleased with last night. Maybe they were. There just may not be many of them left.
Below are my drawings. I also videoed my hand drawing for the entire 90 minutes for Happs TV.
