Thank you for your comments. I consider "feminists" to be people of all genders and races working together for the rights of women identifying people. I am absolutely sure there are wonderful men working alongside women+ to fight for equality and liberty in Iran. I am a firm and loud believer, as you are, that these things cannot happen without unity and the support of male allies.

As for the flag, I talk about that in the piece, understanding that flags are complicated symbols. Even some of us Americans do not like how our flag is used and often what it can symbolize. I grew up suspicious of nationality symbols such a flags. And so in thie piece, that is why I drew the second image. And finally, I know what the hashtag is, sometimes I type wrong or the spellcheck changes it....I should be careful. Kianoush is a friend of many years, and I mispelled his last name! Apologies to Kianoush!
