See Saw Political Season
Is this how you feel?
Is this how you feel lately? Not knowing if you are screaming in joy or alarm, or flipping back and forth between the two within a day?
It reminds me of a drawing I did for The New Yorker during the pandemic.
This presidential election has me see-sawing between certanty and uncertanty, fear and joy. Anyone else?
One thing jumped out to me yesterday: Trump said that Ukranian president Volodimir Zalinsky “shouldn’t have started the war with Russia.” Then he said, and I paraphrase, that Ukraine “is gone” — so many of the “beautiful buildings with gold domes are knocked over.” He has no clue how important the country is to the people who live there, how they love their country deeply. To him, it is all about gold domes.
Just now in a brief interview outside of his plane, Trump said to reporters:
“I want to see Kamala do a cognitive test because she won’t ace them, she wasn’t born smart.” This is racism.
Hope you are enjoying your Friday!
