Running To And From

Trump news

I feel both furious and sullied when I read about what Trump’s doing. Don’t want to repeat what happened in 2016 when the media could not get enough of him. It helped him win the election, I believe.

Part of me thinks Trump’s rally in Waco, Texas- the first of his presidential bid- doesn’t mean much, or rather it means he’s grasping at any community that will have him. Waco is home of anti-government, far-right extremists, and, as many news outlets have written, his choice of Waco for his rally is a literally a rallying cry to those in his base who want civil war (can you believe we are saying things like this?). Waco was the location of a horrible tragedy involving religious extremists, but what happened there in that 51 day seige in 1993, “resonate in today’s times: gun ownership vs. gun regulation, rural independence vs. Washington bureaucracy.” (USA Today) So? We just keep an eye on the situation, which I am sure Biden and the US government are.

We run back and forth from it, get what we need- but don’t linger or the waves will engulf us. How’s that for a metaphor that links to my drawing above?
