A jungle of disinformation

What rises to the surface, as I talk to many different people about the election, is the undeniable influence of the major shift in how people get their information. People are getting “news” from so many places and the right wing media is controlling that.

Yes, racism, sexism and classism all play a part in the election, too.

And it’s about perception. For example, are you better off than four years ago, or worse off, really? People have been brainwashed to think life is horrible, brainwashed by relentless right-wing media, in podcasts, tweets and radio. But also, apparently, the voting public- is, by and large — not well-educated. The right wing media is taking advantage of that.

I’m gathering news outlets to read that could help me understand what’s going on. Axios, Media Matters, others. And I’ll check in with The New Republic, The Atlantic, CNN, MSNBC, The New Yorker. The NY Times is no longer reliable, although I will check in with it.

In other alarming news…

Musk’s wealth skyrockets by $13 Billion. He was in a call with Trump and Vladimir Zalinsky. Trump had said he was going to end the Ukraine War in his first 24 hours after being elected (or was it after taking office). Maybe he was attempting to make a deal for Trump hotels in Kiev. He and Musk were probably offering Zelinsky money to surrender.

Thanks for being here.
