Musk is all about money

In what I consider a PR stunt, Elon Musk spoke to reporters in the Oval Office, as Trump sat at the Resolute Desk and listened, hands clasped. When a reporter asked about Musk’s role and his detractors, Musk said, “I have detractors?” and smiled. He then said, “The people voted for major government reform and that’s what the people are going to get”.

“That’s what democracy is all about”.

Eric Lee, NY Times

I don’t agree that that is what Americans voted for. They voted for a better quality of life and lower food prices — that is, half of Americans did. The other half may have also wanted lower food prices, but voted for sanity and kindness.

And does Musk really understand what democracy is all about?

He asserted what he is doing is in the interest of the American people. With no proof, Musk said he is “fixing the government rife with fraud.” He also said he is working with transparency. Both statements are completely false. Trump is continually being challanged by judges, and he says they have no right to do that. He believes he has unlimited power, aparently.

The news today was once again peppered with strange stories. Trump met with the leader of Jordan and talked about taking over Gaza again. Paper straws are out, plastic is back. This is madness.

Trump barred a reporter from the Associated Press because the outlet continues to call the Gulf of Mexico the Gulf of Mexico.

Deep breaths.

A cartoon to calm us down. This one was in The New Yorker.
