Jaime Harrison raises 57 million, and Dems are ahead

Candidate for Senate in South Carolina, Jaime Harrison, raised a record amount of 57 million dollars from July through September. This is newsworthy, particularly since he is running against Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, a response from the Democrats to the GOP forcing through the nomination of a Supreme Court Justice. Graham is the Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee. In general, the Democrats are ahead in fundraising, but as we know, money does not always equal winning.

I did the drawing above during my daily live broadcasts on Instagram TV, and HappsTV. I wanted to draw something about Jaime Harrison’s fundraising, but thought it should reflect the trend for the election in general. I gave Biden aviator glasses in hopes of distinguishing him, as he often wears them. I love drawing Kamala because she has so much energy! Trump has short pants, because he is a schoolyard bully. And Pence, well, flies seem to like him.

Below are some sketches I did beforehand, trying to narrow down the idea. I decided that donkeys and elephants as political symbols might be outdated.

And this is a sketch I did that made me feel this approach is the best version!

Follow me on Instagram to watch me draw something in the news each day during the week. 5pm ET. Also 5:30 on HappsTV , where you can also sponsor me if you are so inclined!
