Another prominent writer for the Washington Post has resigned. Ruth Marcus, Washington Post associate editor and top political columnist is resigning following CEO Will Lewis’ decision to kill her opinion piece critical of Bezos’ latest changes to the paper. Last month, Bezos announced a change to the paper’s editorial stance, that from now on it would be about “personal liberties and free markets.” I frankly don’t fully understand what that means, it sounds like wishy washy goblety gook, something akin to trickle down theory. What happened to “Democracy Dies In Darkness?” Most writers I have been reading about this indicate the shift means an alignment with the right.

Honest journalism is moving elsewhere.

Harvard announced a hiring freeze because funding is threatened. On Friday, Trump withdrew $400 million of grant money from Barnard College for its supposed failure to protect Jewish students. Trump celebrated the arrest of Mahmoud Khalil, the activist who played a leading role in Columbia University’s pro-Palestinian student protests last year, saying this was his “first arrest of many to come. We know there are more students at Columbia and other Universities across the Country who have engaged in pro-terrorist, anti-Semitic, anti-American activity, and the Trump Administration will not tolerate it.” This…
