Drawing NYC’s Subway Riders

It’s a joy and passes the time

Sometimes I pick ordinary people doing ordinary things, such as this woman cleaning her glasses. Other times, it’s obvious who I will draw. I always draw these on my iPhone with my index finger- crude looseness, immediacy, is part of the resulting image, and I like it.

Everyone is masked now, I’m proud of my fellow New Yorkers for following the rules, caring for each other. Here below are some previous drawings from the past few years. The subway is great people watching; I love this city.
