Day Three At Oscar Week

Because of a media walk through (where they tell us all the protocal and procedure for the night of the show), and a hair appointment, I didn’t draw much at the venue today. I did see the woman above being filmed in this odd location with a great ladder behind her. All sorts of construction was going on around them.

It’s like a dream being here.

And then this evening, I went to a screening at the Academy Museum (yes, there is now a museum dedicated to movies and the Oscars!) of the nominated Short Documentaries, and a panel discussion of the Feature Documentary producers and directors. It was a huge panel!

The man on the far right is the director Daniel Roher. The only reason I am pointing him out, is if you look closely, he’s drawing. Day before yesterday, one of the staff of the Oscars told me about him, and how he draws in a sketchbook wherever he goes! I love it, and we have since connected on Instagram. The documentary he directed is called Navalny, about the Russian opposition leader, Alexei Navalny.

More tomorrow!
