This drawing came to me after reading an article in the NYTimes where I learned of Trump’s Chief of Staff Mark Meadow’s remarks in an interview, “We’re not going to control the pandemic,”, it “is a contagious virus just like the flu,” and that “what we need to do is make sure that we have the proper mitigation factors, whether it’s therapies or vaccines or treatments to make sure that people don’t die from this.” (NYTimes)
I envisioned a drawing of Trump playing with the virus, as if a toy, or Trump tossing it like a ball….and then the visual of the virus as a balloon came to me. And then I envisioned that the virus might just carry him away. Not literally, mind you — I don’t want him to be killed by the virus. …
I drew this the other day as I thought about all the Americans who are going out to vote. Many have already done so via mail-in ballot. I have voted in every presidential election since I was able to vote, it is a joy.
My drawing is meant to be a visual reminder to go vote if you have not done so yet! Hopefully, things will remain as calm as my sketch makes it seem…. and not too long lines!
Follow me on Instagram, where I live draw every weekday at 5pm EST.
